Kristie Does India!: Let the adventure begin

Kristie, my love, my bffl, my soul and my social life is leaving in 24 hours to embark on a fantastic journey to India! She will be there for over a month helping with the rabid dog population of India. Saving the world one doggie at a time.
GET IT GIRL. :)
You can follow her, on her awesome blog. (That I may or may not have created for her.) Please enjoy the name of the blog. I got the idea from a movie in and around the 80s time period.

Fail.

Wow. I have not logged on and updated my blog in way too long. My apologies.
It is time for the outdoor play for the toddlers to begin. This equals (roughly) the worst hour ever. Trying to herd 9 toddlers outside (2 of which are not proficient in walking.) down 6 deadly steps into a sand infested play area is nothing short of hell. Did I mention we also have to dip them in sunscreen before we go outside? Who likes sunscreen? No one. Let the crying wars begin.
So we get outside and naturally the toddlers eat the sand, throw the sand, fall off of slides and fight over shovels and buckets.  I am focused on not getting sand in my shoes their safety while all this madness is occurring.
Who thought this situation could get any worse? Not me.
But IT DOES.
We have now discovered that there are ticks that live in trees. Yes, they land on you when they fall. Disgusting. It only gets better, if you can manage to avoid the falling ticks, you might think you are in the clear. Wrong again. There are also sand fleas.
My little Johnny above has the right idea.
Wish me luck. I will need it.

Sassy Ruth Ann

Meme has become very sassy in her older age. Today when I called her for the third time, she wanted to talk to me about her Big C and how it was terminal... She started to delegate what she wanted me to have and what not. I told her that I didn't want to hear about it, that it made me sad. Meme's response... "Well, I thought you were a grown up now."
Sassy.
So she seems to be doing fine. She has had lots of visitors, phone calls, flowers and cards. She said that is what keeps her going. She has one more procedure tomorrow and then she will be off to rehab at the Amherst Nursing home for a short period of time.

Eva the spider cat

Eva is on top of my door...Crazy, crazy little critter.

Spring Time!

I like to pretend that I can be like Martha Stewart (minus the criminal part!). So today I made some coffee mugs with a spring theme::

My little Meme

Some of you may know that Meme is not doing well. She has had many health complications recently which have resulted in her spending days in the hospital. She has the Big C word which is hard for me to even think about let alone say. She is a trooper though, everyday she has a smile on her face. She is more concerned about Eva's emotional needs (yes, my cat.) than her own. Just keep Meme in your thoughts in the upcoming weeks. She begins chemotherapy tomorrow and she will need all the positive thoughts she can get sent her way. We just want to see her beautiful self as comfortable as she can be.

Batman

I guess this needs a tiny back story... I have been associating with this boy who will be named Batman. Batman was not feeling well recently so I took my teacher like creative mind and put together a comic strip "get well" card. This is the result. Hopefully this made Batman feel better. I
I know I had inappropriate amounts of fun making it!
